Instructions for Master Thesis

The essential facts:

  • For the registration of a Master Thesis an Abstract of the work is required. The Abstract has to adhere to the following structure:

    (1) problem description

    (2) expected results

    (3) methodology

    (4) state-of-the-art (including at least four literature references)

    (5) the work's relation to the study program.

    The Abstract has to be checked by the supervisor. The Abstract defines the overall contents of the planned Master Thesis and serves as a check on writing skills.   • Other forms required for the registration of the Master Thesis are available from the Web site of the Faculty of Informatics (http://www.informatik.tuwien.ac.at/dekanat/formulare). The Abstract has to be signed by the supervisor.
  • For guidelines regarding the Master Thesis including the cover page (Word, LaTeX, PDF) are available from the Web site of the Faculty of Informatics (http://www.informatik.tuwien.ac.at/lehre/richtlinien).
  • Information regarding the submission of the final Master Thesis as well as the necessary forms are available from the Web site of the Faculty of Informatics (http://www.informatik.tuwien.ac.at/dekanat/formulare).
  • A poster describing the Master Thesis is required when submitting the final thesis. Guidelines for the preparation of the poster are available from the Web site of the Faculty of Informatics (http://www.informatik.tuwien.ac.at/lehre/richtlinien).
  • Please note that in addition to the requirements of the Faculty, the PDF version of the final Master Thesis and the poster as well as a bound version of the Master Thesis is to be delivered to the Institute.
