This is a guest professor area course of the TU Wien Informatics Doctoral School for doctoral and master students.

27 Oct - EU – its ambitions, institutions, policy making:This lecture will extensively address the EU in its objectives and workings and allow for discussion on institutional design against the background of industrial, social, and technological development.
28 Oct morning - Digital policies, from laws to funding programmes:The EU (and its Member States) has an ever wide range of ICT policies and programmes that provide an intriguing landscape of public interventions in the rapidly evolving digital world.guest: Prof Reinhard Posch, CIO of the Federal Government in Austria and emeritus of Graz University of Technology on digital trust (and a founding father of EU policy in e-ID and e-Signatures)
28 Oct afternoon - One-to-one meetings with PhD students:Discuss your research work in a one-to-one meeting with the lecturer
29 Oct - Infrastructural (internet, eID, digital finance), data protection, cybersecurity:A deep dive into selected infrastructural elements and cross-cutting aspects of the digital ecosystem and complemented by a case exercise in small groups
22 Nov - Platforms, services (digital industry, health):A deep dive into digital platforms and selected services in the digital ecosystem and complemented by a case exercise in small groups
23 Nov - One-to-one meetings with PhD students:Discuss your research work in a one-to-one meeting with the lecturer
25 Nov - Future perspectives in technology and policy, AI, blockchain, quantum and emerging research questions:An interactive exploration of the future of the digital world in terms of technology and policy, with a focus on the dialectic of technological and social construction
26 Nov - Practice of technology, policy and business – exchange with Georg Serentschy (regulator), Wolfgang Weber (strategist):Two practitioners, amongst whom a former EU regulator and a TU Wien alumnus, will share their professional and career experience, in a dialogue with students.
