Humans interact with technology and via technology with others. Professor Gretzel will present basic theories on what motivates individuals to engage with technology, to produce data and to share such data with others and how such individual behaviours translate into aggregate social phenomena. The lecture will further discuss how technology use colors perception and shapes language, identities and social relations and why this matters for how we gather data and analyse it.
